The BIGGEST smile of a champion

This photo is one of my favourites that I took of Abhijeet because he has this BIG smile. Nobody really knows if feels too happy next to these beautiful girls or because of the world championship :P. The funny thing is the discussions that came after publishing this photo to facebook and vkontakte...

A tiger over her little mouse

There some players that from the way that they are moving you can say that they are like animals. This summer I met Andrianna Nikolova and I saw a tiger over the board...
One of the kindest,cool kids in Greece is the younger Grigoriadis. Michalis Grigoriadis is small boy that looks like a mouse that comes takes the cheese and leaves with nobody notice him. So at this photo I saw a big cat to goes over the little mouse... And finally she caught it.

Greek chess tournament

These days I am arbiter in my region's International Tournament. The tournament "Honour to National Resistance" is one of the biggest Greek tournaments. Everybody when listen about Greece is thinking about sea. So I decide to help my Bulgarian friends to find a nice beach near to their hotel that is in centre of Athens. So we went by bus to Vouliagmeni (20 km away from centre) and swim. I think this photo with Enchev Ivalho and Rusev Krasimir is the best advertisement for our tournament.I hope next year I can invite more friends to play in our place.

Actually from Turkey

When I started this photoblog I haven't in mind that maybe I will have photos from other countries but finally before 2 months I have received an invitation to be arbiter to Turkey. For all the members of organization (organizers,arbiters,help desk,internet team) I have only good things to say so I want to thank people we co-operated well and post this photo as memory of good time.

The winning team Greek of chess cup 2008

After 3 draws finally Union of chess players of Salonica won the the Greek chess team cup for 2008 over Kydon from Chania...There was not a ceremony as long after 9 hour of games it was difficult to wait so this is the only photo from the winners. I hope next time not be arbiter in games like this...

Chess uniform? Why not?

Here is one of the most famous greek sport clubs. It had to be the champion at football. The chess club of this team is a new one but I like that have the same uniforms. If every team was forced to use the same uniforms don't you think that we sponsors would be more interested in chess?
At this time there sponsors but in so many photos there is no sign that they are sponsoring the event!

I am going to go to Nagorno-Karabakh

Here is the team of Azerbaijan at the closing ceremony of Euro teams 2007. I post it right now because I want to announce that 28th February I am going to go to Azerbaijan. I hope I will meet some of this team there.

How much does it cost?

This rook I bought it from a seller at Euro teams. When I asked him "How much does it cost?" He answered "free" When I listened free, I thought impossible... So I asked again "Free?" Again the answer was "Yes, free". Show I thought that he is Russian, so I showed him 3 fingers and I asked him again "Free €" So he told me again yes and I gave him three euros...
So funny to listen Russian to speak english...

New Greek Champion:Ioannis Papadopoulos

Maybe it looks like unbelievable but Greece that has 10 GMs but her champion is not titled and only 19 years old!
Ioannis Papdopoulos is the new greek champion. Congratulations Yanni! You proved one more time your talent!
I am very happy that this young man is our champion because now I hope he will have more chances to play with our national team over other not so talented or not hungry for wins Grand Masters.

I became FIDE Arbiter

I post this photo just to announce that finally I became Fide Arbiter. Actually the first one in Greece :) You can see the list that I am the only one because before there wasn't requirement to qualify for International Arbiter to become Fide. I will apply at January and for the Arbiter's title and then as far as I know will be approved another one for Fide Arbiter. Hypothetically now I can be arbiter in any tournament in the world and not only at Greece. Practically someone have to invite me ...

Greek Dances by GM Baadur Jobava

At closing ceremony of Euroteams 2007 organiser had decided to entertain the chess players with traditional Greek dances. BUT some of the them begun to dance as more entertaining than sit and just listen. GM Baadur Jobava just begun and after some minutes was dancing with girls from Spain and Lithuania.Sad that I don't know to dance Greek traditional dances

An Armenian dancing with an Azeri

This photo made me feel so happy.When I saw an Armenian dancing with an Azeri I felt so happy that two people that their countries chose to be enemies are good friends.That ignore that their countries chose to poison people with hate and hunger for blood and racist feelings.Aronian and Mamedjarov show that people are all the same. Please no more blood for money!

This beautiful girl is the first board of Switzerland and unfortunately I have been her arbiter for 2 times and 2 times destroyed her better position and the first time she lost and second made draw...
I think that she is going to think that I am her black cat.

This girl wear every long socks and colourful shorts dresses. Amazing! I think lovers of Manga would fall in love with her. (and they are not the only)
